Opened in 2019, Forest City Golf Resort’s Classic Course is built on four reclaimed islands between Singapore and Malaysia. This local Malay designed course is 25-minutes-drive from Johor City Centre and just an hour from Singapore.
The Classic Course is the second 18-hole course to be developed on this 30-square kilometer parcel of land; the first being the Jack Nicklaus designed Legacy Course.
The profusion of tropical, floral planting is quite beautiful and sets it apart from other courses in the area. Incorporating cleverly placed water hazards and narrow fairways, the course is designed to challenge golfers of all levels.
The Classic Course is 7,138 yards in length, from the back-tee boxes and 6,589 yards from the blue tee boxes. To speed up play and assist disabled golfers, carts are allowed on fairways.
The clubhouse is incorporated into the luxurious Forest City Golf Hotel which is positioned centrally within the resort. Facilities are 5-star and include a 21-bay full-length driving range, restaurants, a swimming pool, tennis courts and a fitness center.
Overall, the Classic Course is an attractive course that contrasts nicely with the desert theme of the Legacy Course.
