Designed by golfing great, Jack Nicklaus, the Forest City Golf Resort, Legacy Course was opened in September 2018. Located just 25-minutes-drive from Johor city center, it is one of two courses currently featured within the Forest City Golf Resort. The golf resort is part of the huge Forest City development, a US$100 billion real estate project on 30 square kilometres of land, including reclaimed islands, in the straits between Malaysia and Singapore. Weaving alongside the Pulai River, the Legacy Course resembles a desert golf course in places, with its scrubby, sandy wastelands. Built on a former mangrove swamp, millions of tons of ocean sand were dredged to raise playing surfaces and provide adequate drainage during the wet season. Notable is the large, preserved, forested hill which serves as an attractive backdrop to both the 9th and 18th holes. Among the feature holes are the brutally long riverside 4th, the roomy par five 8th and tempting short par fours at the 6th and 11th. The clubhouse is located within the huge, 5-star Forest City Golf Hotel which is centrally located within the resort. Facilities include a 21-bay full-length driving range, restaurants, a swimming pool, tennis courts and a fitness center.
