Ponderosa Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course, originally designed by Max Wexler, but later re-designed by Ronald Fream. Just a fifteen minute-drive from Johor Bahru, the Club is tucked away in a high-end residential suburb of the city.
Well placed sand and water hazards, as well as problematic, undulating greens make Ponderosa a challenge for golfers of all standards. The signature hole is the 7th, a 168-meter, par-3 hole that requires a first shot carry across a large pond to reach the green. Precise club selection is necessary to prevent losing your ball in the mature trees just left of the green. On the back 9, hole 16 is the most remarkable. This dog-legged, par-4 is 370 meters in length, with a huge pond and waterfall features coming into play. The Mediterranean-style clubhouse includes a restaurant serving Chinese food. Facilities include a pro-shop, driving range, tennis courts and an Olympic-size swimming pool. The course is floodlit making night golf also possible
