Established in 1992, the Plantation Course is one of three 18-hole golf courses at the Tanjong Puteri Golf Resort. Designed jointly by Max Wexler and Akira Mamiya, the course lies along the waterfront on the Straits of Johor, near the town of Pasir Gudung. Conveniently, it is just a 30-minute drive from Singapore-Johor Causeway.
This 18-hole, par-72 course, is 6,454 meters in length and was built on the site of a former oil palm plantation. The course has been designed to incorporate original features of the plantation and farm. Palm plantations and fruit orchards with durian, mango, jack fruit and rambutan still surround the course. The large clubhouse is home to four restaurants, including a highly regarded Chinese restaurant.
Unfortunately, caddies are not available for hire, but golf carts are mandatory. Facilities at the Tanjong Puteri Golf Resort, Plantation Course include a 52-bay driving range and a practice green. Although there is an onsite resort for those looking to overnight, it is decidedly tired and caters more to locals.
