Established in 2005, Danau Golf Club at the Universiti Kebangsaan in Bangi, Malaysia is a locally designed, par-72, 18-hole golf course. Located 30 minutes-drive from the center of Kuala Lumpur, just off the North-South Highway, it is a tough countryside course that is an excellent choice for low-handicappers visiting the Selangor area.
After a full renovation in 2011, Danau was voted ‘best-improved golf course in Malaysia’. Upkeep of the dwarf Bermuda grass greens and cow grass fairways is very good. Maintenance is carried out by the same crack team that look after the award-wining Saujana Golf & Country Club.
The signature hole is the short 282-meter, par-4 second hole with it’s undulating green, protected on all sides by deep pot bunkers. Many holes at Danau are made challenging by the cow grass fairways and for this reason the course is best suited to low handicappers. Higher handicappers are strongly advised to play off the forward tees to avoid very high scoring.
Facilities at Danau are average and include a driving range, clubhouse and locker rooms. Caddies are not available for hire.
