Penang Golf Club (former Bukit Jambul Country Club) was incorporated in 1984 and is one of the most well known golf courses in Malaysia. What was once a 130-acre hilly rugged and rocky jungle, Penang Golf Club has established itself as one of Penangs top golf clubs. Since its opening in 1984, numerous extensions and renovations have enabled this Malaysia golf resort to be the preferred golfing avenue, such as being the host of the 31st Malaysian Open in 1992 which was won by Vijay Singh.
Situated on a hilltop, this Malaysia golf course provides a stunning panaromic view of the island, overseeing the impressive 13km Penang Bridge. Its stunning 18 hole 5,763 meter, par 72 golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Probably the most famous is the 10th hole with its tee box perched 100 feet above the fairway on the valley floor. Acclaimed as the no.6 top golf course in the recent Golf Malaysia Golf Course Poll (2001/2002), Penang Golf Club has been the crossroads for many world renowned golfers, documenting great moments in Malaysia golfing history.
