Located in a valley 5,000 feet above sea-level, Cameron Highlands Golf & Country Club offers a round of golf in fresh mountain air, just three hours-drive from Kuala Lumpur. Opened in 1952, the course was calved out of the virgin forest in the Malaysian Highlands. The par-71, 6,101-meter course has lush green fairways with well-developed trees, sand bunkers, tricky greens and thick rough; providing what is arguably the most pleasant golfing environment in Malaysia.
The signature hole is the par-5, 15th with a dramatic 100 meter elevation change and a 360 panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. Other notable holes include the 12th and 17th with their shared fairways. The clubhouse offers the opportunity to kick back and relax after a round and enjoy a snack or a cold beverage in the restaurant.
Unfortunately, the club does not have a driving range and practice facilities are limited. Given its high elevation cool breezes and passing showers are to be expected at Cameron Highlands, so be sure to bring a jacket and an umbrella with you. Overall, Cameron Highlands offers a cool and pleasant round of golf in a spectacular elevated setting.
